To be or not to be circumcised
Circumcision has been a hot debate between both men and women. Male circumcision is the removal of some or all of the foreskin (prepuce) from the penis.
Studies have been shown that male circumcision may result in lifelong physical, sexual, and sometimes psychological harm as well. Reports detailing the effect of circumcision on erectile dysfunction have been mixed. Therefore can't make really a connection between circumcision and various sexual topics.
If at the beginning of the century circumcision was still a wide spread technique with mainly the goal of keeping genital area clean, today this practice it's much less performed.
The debate is still ongoing and what should be a of high interest to you is the impact circumcision has on sexual satisfaction.
The American Academy of Pediatrics stated "A survey of adult males using self-report suggests more varied sexual practice and less sexual dysfunction in circumcised adult men. There are anecdotal reports that penile sensation and sexual satisfaction are decreased for circumcised males."
That sounds pretty scary on one hand, although the evidence is not final. Probably you should weigh the benefits versus potential risks before entertaining the idea of circumcision.
The history of circumcision goes back to ancient times, when Egyptian dynasties were performing circumcisions on newly borns as an effective method of maintaining penile hygiene.
Today, countless investigations produced little evidence to confirm that indeed circumcision provides better hygiene or protection against sexual transmitted diseases.
If you were thinking that circumcision may influence the size of your penis, rest assured that there is no such correlation either. Size remains the same, visual impact is the same also.
Therefor, the choice to be or not be circumcised will have to come from deeper reasons than those mentioned above, since evidence does not correlate so far with any kind of improvement, either in sexual pleasure, size or genital cleanliness.
Opponents of circumcision argue that it is a barbarian practice which has historically been, and continues to be, defended through the use of various myths. Also it interferes with normal sexual function while being extremely painful and violates the individual's human rights when performed on infants and children.
As you may see, the controversy is still a hot topic and I recommend to do your homework before making a decision for you or members of your family.
If you were entertaining the idea of circumcisions for creating the illusion of a bigger penis, entertain no more. The risks are way too big and you can achieve instead those results in a much safer manner.
